All flights that are cancelled by Tiger Moth Joy Rides because of bad weather are rescheduled to a flight date and time that suits the passenger.
What happens if I book a day and my flight is cancelled because of rain?
Will the aerobatics make me sick?
Most passengers think that they will be sick however not many are sick. The flight is gentler than you think. There is a sick bag onboard if needed.
Can I purchase a scenic flight and add the aerobatics to my flight on the day?
Yes, you may upgrade your flights to add aerobatics when you arrive at the airfield just speak to our friendly staff and this can be arranged for you. (There is an additional charge for aerobatics).
Can I change my mind and decide to do aerobatics once I am up in the air?
If you are just not sure about whether you would like to do the aerobatics before your flight speak to our staff and we can arrange that you may ask the pilot to perform aerobatics during the last leg of your flight over the Tiger Moth Airfield and you can pay for the aerobatics when you land.
What sort of G Forces will I experience during the aerobatics?
Up to 3G. As you are looking at the spectacular Gold Coast upside down you will be pulled into your seat with G Forces up to 3G.
How many passengers can fly in a Tiger Moth?
One. A Tiger Moth seats only two people (the pilot and one passenger) this makes an individual experience for the passenger, it is your flight for you only.
Can I take my camera onboard? Can I have photographs taken of me with the aeroplane?
You are most welcome to bring a camera with you on the aeroplane as long as it has a wrist strap. You may take a camcorder with you as long as it straps onto the back of your hand. There are plenty of opportunities to take photographs of yourself with the aeroplane prior to your flight. Everybody looks like a pilot when they are dressed in their leather jacket, helmet and goggles. If you are bringing family and friends along with you it is suggested that they also have cameras with them so that they can take photographs of you taking off and landing. (Give them a big smile and wave as you fly by).
What do I wear when I fly? Do I have to bring my own jacket?
We outfit all passengers in an authentic leather flight jacket, leather helmet and "Biggles" goggles so that you look and feel like a WWI fighter pilot. We suggest that all passengers where long pants (jeans or slacks) and closed in shoes.
How old do you have to be to fly?
We fly passengers over the age of eight (8) years old.
Can we bring the family along to watch?
We encourage you to bring your friends and family along to watch you enjoy your flight. Your flight is an experience for you to remember and sharing it with your family and friends only completes the experience.
Is there room at the airfield for our family to bring a picnic?
The Tiger Moth Airfield is set in a scenic bushland setting. There is plenty of room to spread out a picnic blanket.
How long will it take to get my gift voucher?
Tiger Moth Joy Rides have two types of vouchers"
- Email Voucher – emailed to you within 24 hours of the purchase of your flight.
- Handwritten Boarding Pass – please allow up to 5 working days to receive your Boarding Pass in the mail.
What time of the day is the best time to fly?
The Rainforest and Beaches flight is best taken early in the morning 7.30am.
